A mom once called me at church and said, “Could you tell my son not to become a Pastor?”
“That might sound strange coming from me.”
“Well, he respects you.”
“Why should I tell him not to be a Pastor?”
“It’s a hard job and you don’t get paid that much.
….
Later, this was the conversation with her son.
“You shouldn’t become a Pastor.”
“Why?”
“It’s a hard job and you don’t get paid that much.”
“You do it. It can’t be that hard.”
As a pastor, I do get to the end of the day, know I worked hard that day, but truly cannot find evidenceof that work! Investing in God and people isn’t quantifiable!
to be fair, most pastors work at dying churches… so, how hard could it really be?
